Introduction

SMS is a private medical company providing various levels of medical cover at a wide range of events within the East Anglian region. It is non-profit making  thus providing affordable first aid cover to the organisers of small as well as larger public events.

Staff

All staff hold valid, full first aid certificates issued either by St. John's Ambulance or the British Red Cross. These require a minimum of 3-4 days of training,  Many are re-assessed annually. Many staff possess enhanced first aid skills allowing them to work to Emergency Medical Technician level.  Several staff are recognised St. John's or Red Cross trainers. Paramedics can be provided on request.

Insurance

We hold comprehensive insurance with a £3m indemnity provided through the Association of First Aiders. This covers Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice and Public Liability.

Risk assessments

Risk Assessments are essential for each event we cover. As no two events are the same, we ask to be provided with a copy of  the Risk Assessment produced by the event organisers.
